Jax Velazquez (AKA Shrimp Dog) is a 23 year old queer chicano tattooer who started tattooing in 2024 at Tate Street Tattoos after being an apprentice. They’ve been an artist their whole life and a self proclaimed “Jax of all trades, master of some” as they always have a new hobby. They love taking on any project that comes their way, but the tattoo styles they gravitate towards are traditional, blockprint, neotraditional, fineline, object realism, video games, and cartoons. Creatures and critters are among their favorite subjects to tattoo. When Jax isn’t in the studio they are busy with their many hobbies, making art, spending time with family/friends or playing bass in the band “Sorta Spooky”.
